Comprehensive Early Childhood Care Program

The Comprehensive Early Childhood Care program, known as AIPI, serves boys and girls with Down syndrome from 3 to 7 years of age.
Our goal is for boys and girls to be educated in a favorable environment that allows them to develop comprehensively, taking advantage of the opportunities provided to them within the classroom.

Specific objectives

Methodology

  • Some children who are part of the program, with more specific needs, receive individual Sensory Integration therapy or physiotherapy to support their development; all students in AIPI receive speech therapy.

  • Parents receive group support once a month through the Psychology Program, covering various topics of interest related to the development of the child with Down syndrome and their family.
  • Children are divided into groups according to their chronological age to support early childhood interests.

  • AIPI students attend five days a week and receive group-based support; each group is led by a head teacher and an assistant.

  • Competencies are developed in accordance with the CNB for initial and pre-primary education.

  • A multisensory method is applied, stimulating all learning channels through the use of concrete, manipulative, graphic, and symbolic materials.

  • The following areas are practiced: pre-reading, pre-mathematics, pre-writing, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, perception, social skills, autonomy, artistic expression, emotional development, and understanding of the environment.

  • Activities that promote autonomy are carried out.

  • Work habits are encouraged, social skills are developed through various activities, and learning takes place through play.
