It responds to the needs of young people and adults with Down syndrome who have developmental conditions associated with a dual diagnosis, seeking to promote independence in the different areas of development, according to their own individual characteristics to achieve social inclusion that allows them to enhance their skills and abilities, as well as achieve their life plan. To promote the comprehensive development of people with Down syndrome and other associated conditions, through specialized interventions that stimulate the motor, cognitive, sensory and socio-emotional areas.
To provide sensory strategies to seek functional adaptive responses to the environment.
Develop habits of autonomy and independence in daily life activities.
To support families in the design and implementation of their life plan through the use of Support Levels and Quality of Life.
A group approach is used to accurately identify students’ support levels in order to design an individual life plan, as well as the tools necessary for its implementation.
Students require more targeted support, so Reasonable Adjustments are made to their educational program to better meet their needs and enhance their development and learning. These adjustments include: smaller group sizes (for more individualized support), only 6 students per classroom, three days of attendance, and implementation of the Support and Quality of Life Model.
